In this episode, I’m joined by Darnell Lamont Walker, a death doula, Emmy-nominated children’s television writer, producer, and explorer. Darnell creates spaces worldwide for healing through storytelling, end-of-life care, and workshops on grief, resilience, unlocking the writer within, and radical empathy.

We talk about what it means to be a death doula and the powerful experiences Darnell has had sitting with people at the end of life. He shares tender moments, the meaningful conversations he believes we should be having about death, and how witnessing the end of life changes the way we see and live our own.

Maryam De Groef is a nervous system regulation coach, supporting women through trauma and loss. She is also a mother of two children she has had the honour of mothering earthside and two souls waiting for her in Jannah.

In this episode we talk about Maryam's experience of losing her 9 & 3/4 child Zeynah (it would have been very important to Zeynah that we added that 3/4), a miscarriage a year after the loss of Zeynah and how faith has helped her navigate grief.
